Traveler Reviews
In hindsight, I expected the Li River to be the headline, and it was. What I didn't expect was how much context from the guide changed what I noticed there.
Practically speaking, I liked that the day had structure without feeling scripted. Questions were answered properly, and there was also time to look around in silence. I would rather keep the pause at the Li River than add another stop.
I underestimated how much standing the day involved. A short sit-down between stops made the second half much easier. For 9 hours and 30 minutes around Guilin, the pace felt about right.
Honestly, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at Guilin.
