One detail from the day: what I remember is the change from one stop to the next: different room, different smell, different crowd. Fuzhou Jasmine Tea Scenting with English Guide was only one part of it.
Translation mattered as much as the cooking in Fuzhou. We could ask the host ordinary questions instead of relying on a rehearsed demonstration.
A practical note: one Fuzhou dish was outside my comfort zone, which was half the reason I booked. Asking how locals eat it made the stop much more interesting.
In hindsight, the route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Fuzhou set the pace, while Fuzhou Jasmine Tea Scenting with English Guide gave us a reason to slow down.
