Traveler Reviews
One detail from the day: the title makes this sound like a lot of ground to cover. In practice, the trail and Chengdu and Lhasa felt like two distinct parts of the trip, not the same day repeated.
Pickup and the trail start were timed well, so we were walking before the busiest part of the day. Water and rest stops were discussed clearly. I would keep the Chengdu and Lhasa outline as it was.
A practical note: this is not technical hiking, but it isn't a city stroll either. Starting early gave us a cooler, quieter stretch on the trail. For 2 days around Chengdu and Lhasa, the pace felt about right.
In hindsight, the best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The trail arrived at just the right point in the route. With 2 days to work with, the balance felt sensible.
In short, the guide knew when to explain and when to stop talking. Rare, and appreciated. The time around the trail was not the part I would cut.
