What helped was simple: our questions wandered well beyond the standard facts, and the guide stayed with them. That made the time at Guangzhou much more interesting. With 13 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
Looking back, the schedule is fairly full. I would have liked another twenty minutes at Najin Bay Coast & Sea Rocks Day, but I would not drop any of the main stops.
Looking back, this wasn't a “see everything” tour, and that was a strength. The time around Guangzhou felt specific to Guangzhou, not interchangeable with another city. The time around Najin Bay Coast & Sea Rocks Day was not the part I would cut.
