Looking back, a small thing I appreciated: the guide let Zhongshan Heritage & Old Town Day speak for itself sometimes. Not every quiet moment needed another speech.
The unglamorous part: pickup, tickets and the order of stops were handled without fuss. That sounds ordinary, but it is exactly what you want on a full sightseeing day. I would still leave extra time for Zhongshan Heritage & Old Town Day.
One thing I learned: traffic added time to the day, so comfortable shoes and a little patience helped. The visit itself did not feel shortened. I would keep the Guangzhou outline as it was.
The route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Guangzhou set the pace, while Zhongshan Heritage & Old Town Day gave us a reason to slow down.
Honestly, no grand claims from me: this was organised well, felt personal and showed us Guangzhou at a sensible pace.
