Traveler Reviews
For us, what stayed with me wasn't the booking or the car. It was the time at the Li River, when we could slow down and actually look around.
Practically speaking, the route through Xi'an and Guilin could be awkward to arrange independently. Having one person keep the timing straight made the whole thing calmer.
Bring water and do not over-plan the evening afterward. 12 hours covered more ground than I expected. I would rather keep the pause at the Li River than add another stop.
Honestly, this wasn't a “see everything” tour, and that was a strength. The time around Xi'an and Guilin felt specific to Xi'an and Guilin, not interchangeable with another city.
