Traveler Reviews
The stop I expected to like least turned into the one we discussed afterward. That is the advantage of tasting with someone who can explain what is in front of you. For 4 hours around Shanghai, the pace felt about right.
What helped was simple: the useful part in Shanghai was having someone explain how to order the same dishes later. I left with names in my phone, not just photos. I would keep the Shanghai outline as it was.
Small tip: do not eat a large breakfast before the Shanghai tour. The portions at individual stops look modest, then suddenly you realise you have been tasting things for hours. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.
Looking back, this wasn't a “see everything” tour, and that was a strength. The time around Shanghai felt specific to Shanghai, not interchangeable with another city. With 4 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
