Itinerary
Hangzhou: Bamboo Trails, Waterfalls & Peach Picking Day Trip
Slip away from Hangzhou into the refreshingly cool hills of Anji on this easygoing private day tour, built around nature, gentle strolls and seasonal fruit rather than tough hiking. Your English-speaking guide and private driver pick you up at your hotel and head out to one of the area's loveliest stream valleys.
Following a shaded path beside a babbling brook, you'll wander through atmospheric bamboo forest and discover a string of jade-green pools and tumbling waterfalls, the natural air-conditioning making this a perfect summer escape. The route includes a beautifully preserved Ming-dynasty stone path, where centuries-old steps wind gently through the trees and your guide shares stories of the merchants and travelers who once passed this way.
A scenic viewpoint reveals a famous natural rock formation nicknamed the 'Stone Monk', a great spot for photos and a quiet rest. We keep the whole day comfortable and unhurried, with a relaxed lunch and plenty of pauses for pictures and listening to the wind in the bamboo.
The sweet finale is a visit to a local peach orchard, where you can eat your fill of ripe water peaches and even take some home. Because the tour is private, everything moves at your pace, linger longer by a waterfall or spend extra time in the orchard, it's entirely up to you. Your private car then returns you to Hangzhou in the late afternoon, relaxed and refreshed.

Traveler Reviews
In hindsight, I expected Bamboo Trails, Waterfalls & Peach Picking Day to be the headline, and it was. What I didn't expect was how much context from the guide changed what I noticed there.
Practically speaking, I liked that the day had structure without feeling scripted. Questions were answered properly, and there was also time to look around in silence. With 9 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
The pace suited us, but this is not a lazy half day. Leave some space before whatever you plan next. I would keep the Hangzhou outline as it was.
Honestly, I tend to switch off when tours become a stream of dates. Here, the stories around Hangzhou gave me enough to hold on to without overloading the day.
In short, I came with questions, left with more questions, and mean that as a compliment. The time around Bamboo Trails, Waterfalls & Peach Picking Day was not the part I would cut.
