The food came quickly, but the tour did not. We had time to ask where each dish came from and how people in Guilin and Hangzhou usually order it.
What helped was simple: the Guilin and Hangzhou stops were organised, but the food did not arrive like a rehearsed tasting menu. Each place kept its own character.
Looking back, my legs noticed the climbs the next morning. I would still do the same route, just with lighter shoes and fewer things in my daypack. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Yunxi Bamboo Forest Trail & Meijiawu Tea Tasting Half-Day.
Looking back, I tend to switch off when tours become a stream of dates. Here, the stories around Guilin and Hangzhou gave me enough to hold on to without overloading the day.
