Looking back, there was a fair amount in 3 hours and 30 minutes, but it never felt like a checklist. The stop at the photography stops had room to breathe instead of becoming another quick photo.
The unglamorous part: pickup, tickets and the order of stops were handled without fuss. That sounds ordinary, but it is exactly what you want on a full sightseeing day. For 3 hours and 30 minutes around Hong Kong, the pace felt about right.
One thing I learned: I brought too much gear. One body and a mid-range lens would have been enough for most of the day, with more time to watch the light. The time around the photography stops was not the part I would cut.
The best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The photography stops arrived at just the right point in the route.
In short, I would change my shoes, not the itinerary. I would rather keep the pause at the photography stops than add another stop.
