Traveler Reviews
One detail from the day: the title makes this sound like a lot of ground to cover. In practice, the Great Wall and the trail felt like two distinct parts of the trip, not the same day repeated. For this itinerary, the number of stops was enough.
The guide checked the pace before the steeper section rather than after someone fell behind. That made the trail feel supportive without becoming fussy. I would still leave extra time for the trail.
A practical note: this is not technical hiking, but it isn't a city stroll either. Starting early gave us a cooler, quieter stretch on the trail. For 10 hours around Beijing, the pace felt about right.
In hindsight, I liked this more a day later, when I looked back through my photos and realised how different the trail and the Great Wall had felt.
