Combine Pingyao Ancient City highlights with a 6km drive to Shuanglin Temple, a 1,500-year-old Buddhist complex famous for 2,052 painted clay Buddha statues — the largest collection of polychrome Buddhist sculpture in China. Many statues date from the Song and Yuan dynasties (10th-14th century) and are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage feature. Tour also visits the Tang-era Iron Buddha Temple if time permits. Morning in Pingyao (city wall + Rishengchang + Mingqing Street), lunch, afternoon at Shuanglin. Private vehicle, English-speaking guide, all entrance tickets included.
