Traveler Reviews
For us, what stayed with me wasn't the booking or the car. It was the time at Yu Garden, when we could slow down and actually look around.
Practically speaking, the route through Shanghai could be awkward to arrange independently. Having one person keep the timing straight made the whole thing calmer. With 7 hours and 30 minutes to work with, the balance felt sensible.
The pace suited us, but this is not a lazy half day. Leave some space before whatever you plan next. I would rather keep the pause at the Bund than add another stop.
Honestly, this felt like travelling with someone who knew the area, not following a person holding a flag. That difference showed most at the Bund.
