I went in most excited about Shijiao Sands & Taihe Grotto Day. Funny enough, Guangzhou is the part I kept talking about afterward.
What helped was simple: our guide read the pace well. We got the background when it helped, then space to explore instead of a running lecture. The time around Shijiao Sands & Taihe Grotto Day was not the part I would cut.
Looking back, I would check the weather and dress in layers. We moved between the vehicle, open spaces and indoor sites often enough to notice the difference. I would keep the Guangzhou outline as it was.
Looking back, this wasn't a “see everything” tour, and that was a strength. The time around Guangzhou felt specific to Guangzhou, not interchangeable with another city.
Honestly, a full 10 hours, in the good sense. Wear comfortable shoes and leave the evening loose. With 10 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
