I went in most excited about Anji Zhangli Trail & Waterfalls Day. Funny enough, Shanghai is the part I kept talking about afterward.
What helped was simple: transport to the trailhead was the piece I would not have wanted to arrange myself. Once there, the day felt simple. I would rather keep the pause at Anji Zhangli Trail & Waterfalls Day than add another stop.
Looking back, my legs noticed the climbs the next morning. I would still do the same route, just with lighter shoes and fewer things in my daypack. With 13 hours to work with, the balance felt sensible.
Looking back, I tend to switch off when tours become a stream of dates. Here, the stories around Shanghai gave me enough to hold on to without overloading the day. I would still leave extra time for Anji Zhangli Trail & Waterfalls Day.
