Traveler Reviews
Honestly, I chose this route for Calligraphy at the Legendary Orchid Pavilion, but it didn't feel built around a single attraction. Shanghai gave the day a different rhythm.
This worked for us because we didn't have to solve transport between Shanghai and Calligraphy at the Legendary Orchid Pavilion. We could pay attention to the places, not the logistics.
A practical note: there was more walking than I guessed from the title. Nothing difficult, just enough that I was glad I wore trainers. The time around Calligraphy at the Legendary Orchid Pavilion was not the part I would cut.
In hindsight, not every minute was engineered into a “moment.” There was time for coffee, questions and simply watching Shanghai go by. My only advice is not to shorten the time at Calligraphy at the Legendary Orchid Pavilion.
The guide knew when to explain and when to stop talking. Rare, and appreciated. I would keep the Shanghai outline as it was.
