Looking back, there was a fair amount in 2 hours, but it never felt like a checklist. The stop at the Temple of Heaven had room to breathe instead of becoming another quick photo.
The unglamorous part: the private format mattered most between the main stops. No waiting for a coach to refill and no counting thirty people before moving on. I would rather keep the pause at the Temple of Heaven than add another stop.
One thing I learned: the day ran a little longer once traffic was included. I was tired at the end, but not sorry we stayed for the Temple of Heaven. I would keep the Beijing outline as it was.
The route made more sense once we were on it. Time at Beijing set the pace, while the Temple of Heaven gave us a reason to slow down.
