Traveler Reviews
Looking back, by dinner we were still comparing notes about the photography stops. That is usually how I judge whether a tour was worth doing.
The unglamorous part: the practical side was solid: an easy pickup, sensible timing between stops, and no long sales detour disguised as sightseeing. The time around the photography stops was not the part I would cut.
One thing I learned: I brought too much gear. One body and a mid-range lens would have been enough for most of the day, with more time to watch the light.
I liked this more a day later, when I looked back through my photos and realised how different Weizhou Volcanic Island 3 and the photography stops had felt.
