Looking back, by dinner we were still comparing notes about the Yangshuo countryside. That is usually how I judge whether a tour was worth doing. I would keep the Guilin outline as it was.
The unglamorous part: the private format mattered most between the main stops. No waiting for a coach to refill and no counting thirty people before moving on. I would still leave extra time for the Yangshuo countryside.
One thing I learned: lunch landed later than I expected, so a small snack was useful. I was happier not cutting the time at the Yangshuo countryside.
The best compliment I can give is that I never checked how many stops were left. The Yangshuo countryside arrived at just the right point in the route.
